APC isn’t just a consultancy. As well as supporting organisations with their transport challenges and generating debate about transport and sustainability, I’m part of wider protects and campaigns.

Read more about below.

Active travel

In 2015 and 2016, Alison was closely involved in seeking funding for and delivering West Yorkshire’s successful City Connect walking and cycling programme. She has worked with Sustrans, Living Streets, Cycling UK and British Cycling. She is a keen cyclist and prolific pedestrian!

Climate crisis campaigns

The recent weather events make clear that the climate crisis is not in the future – it is now. We support projects that seek to make significant impacts on carbon emissions. I’m currently supporting the work of GALBA and other campaigns to halt airport expansions.

Public transport

I have over twenty years’ experience with public transport including smart ticketing, data processing and multi-channel passenger information, and schools transport. I’m currently supporting an ambitious and customer-focused bus operator to bid for and deliver franchised bus services.

Gymnastics, wider sport and inclusion

Leeds Esprit gymnastics club was the home for recreational and competitive gymnastics for hundreds of young people in West Leeds. It was also where we developed our championship-winning disability gymnastics team. We are converts to the role of sport, and of gymnastics in particular, to give confidence and skills to young people of all abilities and aptitudes.

Smart ticketing

The world of smart ticketing is evolving, particularly given the impact of the pandemic on the rise of contactless payment. Alison led the design function for Transport for the North’s information and smart travel programme, and has detailed knowledge of smart payment systems, and the offer to customers. I’m currently programme managing a region-wide smart ticketing programme

Biodiversity and conservation

Many of us have found the last year enabled us to spend time in our immediate outdoor spaces and recognise our impact on natural life. Human impact on hundreds of our native species needs to change and is an important part of the reset towards sustainability.

Passenger information

As well as payments, it is key that customers can access accurate real-time information. Alison led the passenger information and marketing team for WYCA (West Yorkshire Combined Authority) and promotes a highly customer-centric approach.

Funding and Business case development

None of this works if there isn’t funding to make it happen. Alison has years of experience of developing business cases and delivering successful funding bids.
